Digital Body Fat Monitor

The topic of health and beauty is very actual nowadays and those people who are not satisfied with both of them try hard to improve the situation and at the same time improve their life level. People start keeping to healthy diets and visit fitness centers or just increase the physical activity at home. Surely, they want to track the changes in their weight loss programs so they need special devices. Simple spring-based mechanical scales are not enough any more as the can not provide the whole variety of options a digital body fat monitor can.

There are several different types of digital body fat monitors such as based on a Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (BIA), Near Infrared Interactance (NIR), Dual Energy X-ray Absorptiometry (DEXA) and Calipers (Skinfold Measurements).

Digital monitors of all the types mentioned above provide rather accurate and easy to read results of body fat measurements. To increase the accuracy of the results users must strictly follow the instructions of the tools they use. Some of them are the following: never start measuring just after you finished exercises, eat and drink the same quantities before measuring, keep the scales in the room with more or less equal temperature during the day.

Some digital body fat monitors are used to show the weight of the person (simple digital bathroom scales), but the more advanced models also measure body fat and body water percentage, muscle mass and bone mineral mass. They are also capable to show the user’s general fitness and count the calories needed by the particular user for the day. Some of the models can keep the results of up to 10 users.

Each digital fat body monitor differentiates in its options, quality and price. Try to buy the most expensive model you can afford as the accuracy of the measurements is equal to the price of the scales.
